Beloved Classic on PS5, PS4 Adds 3 More Games in Free Update

The PS5, PS4 version of a beloved 1999 classic has dropped a free update that adds not one but three more games from the series. Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition — not to be confused with the PS1 emulation of Worms Armageddon on PS Store — has added Worms (Super NES), Worms (Genesis/Mega Drive), Worms World Party (Game Boy Advance), and more via an update.
Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition’s free Backworms Compatible update shadow dropped on PS5, PS4
Called the Backworms Compatible update, the patch also adds the ‘Boggy B’ cheat code (can be toggled in the Options Menu) that unlocks all in-game content.
To clear up any confusion, there are two versions of Worms Amageddon on the PS Store, one of which is marked PS1 emulation. This version is available as part of PS Plus Premium as well as stand-alone purchase. The aforementioned update is for Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition ($24.99), which is an enhanced re-release.
The Anniversary Edition includes multiplayer mode, new display features, an interactive documentary about Worms Armageddon as well as “a museum timeline charting the history of the series.”
“The free Backworms Compatible update brings an onslaught of more retro warfare,” wrote publisher Team17. “Enjoy 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit experiences of the classic Worms madness you know and love.”
