PSA: Massive Fantasy Game Gets Free PS5 Upgrade Today
Players are reminded that a massive multiplayer fantasy game is getting a free PS5 upgrade for existing owners today. Players are reminded that a massive multiplayer fantasy game is getting a free PS5 upgrade for existing owners today. All Black Desert PS4 version owners will be entitled to the free upgrade, including those who previously claimed the game via PS Plus Essential in September 2023.
Black Desert free PS5 upgrade will be available later today, PS4 version already offline
Black Desert is currently down for maintenance due to the transition, which means the PS4 version has gone offline for good. The PS5 version should be live shortly. At the time of this writing, an entry for Black Desert PS5 does appear on the PS Store but clicking it leads to the older game.
This means the SKU is in the process of being updated. A listing for the PS4 version of Black Desert is still visible, but we advise players against making a purchase at this time. A price for the PS5 port has not been revealed, and we’re not sure if Pearl Abyss will be throwing in any extra content or not. The studio released a ‘Traveler’s Edition’ on PS4 which came with in-game items.
For those not familiar with Black Desert, it’s a popular open world MMORPG that has players slaying “monsters, abominations, and gods” alongside engaging in activities like crafting, fishing, and cooking.
