With Google’s announcement of Google AI Pro at Google I/O 2025 it was clear that this service wasn’t necessarily meant for the average user, but thanks to a new promotional offer from Acer, anyone who buys one of the brand’s select Chromebook plus laptops can test out the suite of AI tools for free. This is a pretty good promotion if you’ve been curious about Google AI Pro and wanted to check it out. Considering how much it costs per month. Google also offers an annual subscription, but that costs $199.99. Going for the monthly version costs $19.99. So, it’s not exactly cheap.
That puts into perspective how much of a good value this offer is from Acer, as the purchase will net you Google AI Pro access for free for an entire year. In other words, you’re saving $199.99. That’s not bad at all if you were already planning to buy a Chromebook Plus laptop. There’s a rumor that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 may also get a similar promotion.
The Google AI Pro promotion from Acer is available for all Chromebook Plus models
If you’re wondering which Chromebook Plus laptops from Acer are eligible for this promotion, there are several you can buy. Acer confirms that all its Chromebook Plus models are eligible for this promotion. That means it doesn’t matter which one you buy; you’ll be able to get Google AI Pro for free.
However, it is worth mentioning that there are two that are new to the North American market. This includes the Chromebook Plus 514 and the Chromebook Plus Enterprise 514. That being said, additional models include the Chromebook Plus 516 and Chromebook Plus Spin 714, as well as a few others. Model availability could depend on your region, as well.
In terms of cost, you’re looking at $399.99 retail for the Chromebook Plus 514. That’s a pretty inexpensive laptop, made even more powerful with free access to a $199.99 subscription to Google’s latest AI tools. Google AI Pro includes things like NotebookLM, Google Gemini, and Flow, which gives limited access to Veo 3. There are a bunch of other perks, too. Acer says this offer is available for a limited time, but it’s not too limited. Officially, it expires on February 1 of 2026. So, you have half a year to take advantage of it. It has to be redeemed by that time as well.
