EaseMyTrip unveils ‘EaseMyTrip 2.0’ to back scalable travel and lifestyle ventures

EaseMyTrip.com, a publicly-listed travel technology company, has launched ‘EaseMyTrip 2.0’, a strategic initiative designed to expand the company's presence across the broader travel and lifestyle ecosystem.

Through this programme, EaseMyTrip said it plans to make minority investments in scalable, emerging businesses that align with evolving consumer trends.

Spearheaded by Chairman and Founder Nishant Pitti, EaseMyTrip 2.0 marks a shift from traditional acquisitions to a collaborative partnership model, said the company in a statement.

The company plans to acquire up to 49% equity in select early- to mid-stage startups, while allowing founders to maintain full operational control. The initiative will focus on offering working capital support, resource sharing, and fostering growth through strategic synergies. Interested startups are encouraged to submit comprehensive business plans, historical financial statements, and three-year growth projections for evaluation.

The company said it will focus on partnership over control, offering ventures access to EaseMyTrip's digital infrastructure, 30 million users, co-marketing opportunities, and pan-India reach, while preserving their independence and entrepreneurial freedom.

“We want to back founders who are building exciting businesses and not replace them. EaseMyTrip 2.0 is about combining their vision with our platform to create real, lasting scale,” said Nishant Pitti, Chairman and Founder of EaseMyTrip.

EaseMyTrip is looking to engage with companies across both core travel verticals and adjacent sectors. Within the travel domain, the company is targeting areas such as domestic and international holidays, religious and spiritual tourism (including destinations like Ayodhya, Kedarnath, and Varanasi), education and student travel, MICE and group tours, luxury travel and air charters, air ambulance services, and last-mile mobility solutions like airport transfers and intercity cabs.

The initiative will explore investments in complementary segments such as wellness and preventive healthcare, travel-focused financial products like EMIs and “pay later” options, insurance and travel assistance, airport services including concierge and lounge access, and lifestyle and experiential offerings such as curated travel packages and personalised gifting.

Founded in 2008, EaseMyTrip is an online travel platform that was initially focused on air ticket bookings. According to a 2021 CRISIL report, the bootstrapped company, profitable since inception, offers a full suite of services, including air, hotel, rail, and bus bookings, along with a growing portfolio of ancillary travel services.

The company has presence across cities such as Noida, Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, and operates internationally through offices in the UK, the USA, UAE, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, New Zealand, and Brazil.
