The June 2025 PlayStation State of Play had tons of reveals for PS5 and PS4 players to be excited about. However, one surprising reveal may have slipped under the radar, and it’s one players can check out right now.
Cairn has a PS5 demo available now on the PS Store
On the PS Store right now, there is a free demo for the upcoming PS5 game Cairn. Developed by The Game Bakers, this demo version of the “survival-climber” allows PS5 players to attempt their first ascent before climbing Mount Kami. As noted in the description on its store page, this is the very beginning of the game and takes about 45 minutes to play through.
“Reach a summit never climbed before in this survival-climber from the creators of Furi and Haven,” reads the description. “Climb anywhere and plan your route carefully, managing pitons and resources to survive unforgiving Mount Kami. Discover what Aava is willing to sacrifice to achieve the ascent of a lifetime.”
It is not specifically noted, but it does not seem that progress from the demo will be carried over to the full game when it releases on PS5.
For those unfamiliar with The Game Bakers, they are the makers of Furi and Haven. The music and sound design team also worked on Limbo, Inside, Control, and Cocoon. The art and story is by comic book artist Mathieu Bablet.
This is not the only demo revealed during the June 2025 PlayStation State of Play. During the presentation, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo revealed Nioh 3. Until June 18, players can check out a free demo of the game. Luckily for PS5 players, it isn’t locked behind PS Plus, so anyone can check it out until then.
