The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could be the last smartphone in the series to include the S Pen slot. According to a new rumor from China, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will not have that slot.
The rumor was spotted by Jukan Choi aka Jukanlosreve, a tipster. He claims that the source also mentioned the removal of S Pen support for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 as further evidence of this step from Samsung.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could be the last phone in the series with an S Pen slot
So, if you love using the S Pen and having it with you at all times, next year’s Galaxy S26 Ultra may be your last chance to get that chance. The source did not say that Samsung will remove S Pen support from the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though, just the S Pen slot. Both could happen, however.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will become official in January 2026, if Samsung ends up sticking with its release cycle. It’s expected to be accompanied by the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+. Well, unless the ‘Plus’ model gets replaced with the ‘Edge’ entirely.
We don’t know much about either one of those smartphones at this point, it’s still too early. However, rumors are expected to start coming soon, though we’ll likely have to wait a bit longer for more serious information.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is a complete mystery at this point
The Galaxy S27 Ultra is a complete mystery, on the other hand. If Samsung ends up removing the S Pen slot, we could get some major design changes too. It remains to be seen, we can only guess at this point.
The company is fully focused on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 handsets. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will accompany those two products next month. The rumored launch day is July 9, but Samsung hasn’t confirmed that.
