Samsung has now announced that Unpacked will take place on July 9, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York. This marks the first time that Samsung has returned to Brooklyn since the Galaxy Note 10 announcement in 2019. But this also means that we know the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 release date now.
Samsung will typically open pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 immediately after Unpacked is over with. So we expect Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-orders to begin on July 9. And they should be arriving around July 23-25. Samsung also sometimes ships devices well ahead of the release date. And that could happen once again.
What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
What can we expect from Samsung’s latest foldable device? Well, a pretty big upgrade. Samsung is reportedly fixing almost every complaint that users have had about their foldables. Making it thinner, at around 4mm when unfolded, and around 8.8mm when folded. Samsung’s also finally upgrading the main camera sensor to the same 200-megapixel sensor on the Galaxy S25 Ultra camera. And the front display is going to be much wider this time around – about the same width as a normal smartphone.
After years of pretty small upgrades to the Galaxy Z Fold lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is shaping up to be a pretty big upgrade this year. And I’m actually very excited for this device, more than I have been in quite some time, when it comes to Samsung.
Samsung is also expected to announce a ton of other devices at Unpacked. This includes the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the Galaxy Watch 8, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025. We could also see some surprises, like the Galaxy Buds Core, or even the Galaxy Buds 4 – though the Galaxy Buds Core have been rumored more than the Buds 4.
