PlayStation Days of Play 2025 update and deals may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Sony has plenty of cool ideas to celebrate the event regardless. One sneaky change the company made was an update to its oft-overlooked PlayStation App, which now sports themed Days of Play icons on mobile devices.
How to update PlayStation App icon and keep it beyond Days of Play 2025
For some reason, the new PS App Days of Play icon isn’t available to all users even if they update the app to the latest version. On Android, most people have the purple icon seen below, but iOS users apparently have two variations: black and purple.
Some iOS users claim that they’re able to switch icons between purple and black by using dark mode (for the black version). However, others say that they only have access to the purple variant.
Days of Play 2025 will be over on June 11, following which we expect Sony to revert back to the older icon. However, if you want to keep this version, turn off automatic updates until Sony forces an app update for continued access.
It’s unclear why this PS App update isn’t available to everyone.
