This might all change soon, however—a new report from the folks over at Android Authority points to new elements found within Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1. More speficially, it looks like Google’s working on changes to its “Wallpapers and style” feature that will let users change their UI’s theme with a single tap. A screenshot shared by Mishaal Rahman further shows an option for theming (with some tinkering), although it doesn’t work at the moment.

Just recently, users on the Android 16 beta got a taste of Google’s upcoming changes to the user interface, which includes new transparency effects, animations, as well as tweaks to interactive visual elements. While devices running on “standard” versions of Android such as Google Pixels offer some sort of customizability, these options aren’t in-depth in comparison to what users get on other Android skins like One UI and Hyper OS, to name a couple.
