Something big is coming: Google teases new Pixel line at ultra-exclusive event

Just like every year, Google will be holding an event to announce the Pixel 10 to the world; it’s just a matter of when the company plans to do so. It typically holds these events later in the year. For example, the Pixel 9 family was announced in the middle of August last year. The Pixel 8 series was announced even later in the year in 2023. With Google unveiling the family of devices in October, which was the time it announced the previous two generations. Since last year, though, it seems Google is sliding into a trend of announcing its phones earlier and earlier. At least, if this latest suspicion turns out to be correct.

According to Android Authority, a recent Pixel Superfans email that went out seems to be suggesting the announcement of the Pixel 10 series. This invite is teasing the Pixel product line’s biggest fans with something. Something that certainly appears to be the upcoming Pixel phones. That being said, Google doesn’t explicitly use the words “Pixel 10.”

Google could be holding a Pixel 10 event in late June

There are a few things to take away from the Pixel Superfans invite. First, this event is taking place on June 27 in London. Second, Google doesn’t say Pixel 10, but it does say that attendees will get hands-on time with “pre-release Pixel devices and features.”

At the beginning of the invite’s text, it also says that those invited will have a chance to see the next Pixel line before anyone else. The next Pixel line would have to be the Pixel 10 series, right? That seems like the most logical explanation for what Google is referring to. After all, its mainline phones are really the only thing that has ever been referred to as “the Pixel line.” Of course, none of this is confirmed, but it’s really the only thing that makes sense. Though I suppose there’s an argument to be made that it could be an event to show off accessories.

Out of all the users who are likely in the Pixel Superfan program, Google is only bringing 25 of them to this event. So you’ll need a whole lot of luck if you want to make it to the “Pixel Penthouse.”

Google may still officially announce the new phones in August

While it seems like Google is moving up its timeline for the Pixel 10 announcement, that might not be the case. The Pixel Penthouse event is on June 27. People who get to attend will be getting an early hands-on preview of this “new Pixel line” before everyone else. That only leaves about a month and a half between then and the date of the Pixel 9 announcement last year. Which means Google could easily be giving 25 fans a one-month+ early preview.

Then again, Google did move up the launch of the Pixel 9a compared to the launch of the Pixel 8a in 2024. It’s also releasing Android 16 considerably earlier than it released Android 15. Time will tell, but we might be seeing the Pixel 10 arrive sooner than expected. The Pixel 10 series should end up with the same number of phones as last year. This includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
