PS5, PS4 users are reminded that they can play Death Stranding for free ahead of its universally praised sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The game was added to PS Plus Extra, Premium catalog when the service was revamped and remains available at the time of this writing.

Sony hasn’t announced any plans to remove Death Stranding from PS Plus catalog but the company does have history of removing games ahead of new launches, or shortly thereafter. Considering the sequel just earned universal praise and is likely to do gangbuster in terms of sales, interest in the original will certainly spike.

We highly recommend giving Death Stranding a shot now, if you haven’t already.

While PS4 players continue to have access to the original release, PS5 players who are subscribed to PS Plus Extra or Premium can access the Director’s Cut version that was only released on the current-gen console. On its own, the game is $49.99.

PS Plus Premium members can also stream the game directly from the catalog without having to download anything.

Death Stranding 2 will release on June 26. Early access is available now.
