Leaked Pixel 10 Pro Prototype Shows Google Still Loves to Tweak What Isn’t Broken

After announcing the dates for Google’s Pixel 10 announcement and availability this morning, we are now seeing a prototype of the Pixel 10 Pro surfacing over on the Chinese social media platform coolapk.

This is apparently a DVT1.0 prototype of the Pixel 10 Pro, which means that this might not be the same design that we see in August when the device is made official.

The biggest change we see here on this model compared to the Pixel 9 Pro is going to be the camera bar. It appears to be taller this time around. Which is a bit strange, as we’re expecting the cameras to be the exact same as the Pixel 9 Pro last year.

It does look like this is an older set of pictures, as the “Pixel 10 Pro” is sporting Android 16, and not QPR1, which launched last month at Google I/O and likely has been being tested internally at Google for quite some time.

The other change here, that you might not have noticed, is the SIM card tray being moved to the top. Essentially taking the place of the antenna on the Pixel 9 Pro. Leaving us with what looks like two speakers on the bottom.

Keep in mind that this is not the final design, and I’d wager that the final version will not have this wider camera bar. But the SIM card tray could be moved in the final version.

Screenshots show us what the Tensor G5 would be configured as

We’ve heard bits and pieces about the Tensor G5 already, We did know it would be an eight-core processor, manufactured by TSMC, with Google leaving Samsung finally. It is going to have two Cortex-A520 cores, three Cortex-A725 cores, two Cortex-A725 cores and a Cortex-X4 core. The Cortex-X4 core could be clocked as high as 3.25GHz, but we don’t expect to see that from Google. As Google is focusing more on AI performance, versus raw performance.

The screens do also show that this is a 5nm chipset, and it has 256GB of storage. That storage really doesn’t tell us anything, as Google has offered all Pixel models in 256GB for quite some time. And this does not indicate that it will start at 256GB, though we do hope it does.

The Pixel 10 series is expected to be announced in about two months, on August 13. So expect to see loads more leaks leading up to then.
