Samsung’s New Strategy: Hook Gen Z on Galaxy S25 AI Magic

Whenever a new smartphone is released these days, companies like Samsung really hone in on specific consumer groups to market these new phones to, and in this case, the company is finding ways to target Gen Z with the Galaxy S25 series. Through a series of new videos, Samsung is showing consumers how they can use Galaxy AI and Google Gemini on the Galaxy S25 phones to do everything from fixing cooking mistakes to studying for exams.

It’s a smart ploy, considering Gen Z is likely to be using AI a lot more than some other age groups. Removing the Gen Z aspect from things, Samsung’s examples for how Galaxy AI and Google Gemini can help you in real life could really apply to anyone. They’re also no doubt rooted in reality. All of the videos target a different problem or question that needs a resolution or answer. As one would have it, the Galaxy AI suite, powered by Google Gemini, can provide these resolutions and answers. All users need to do is ask for help.

The Galaxy S25 can help Gen Z users learn how to fix cooking mistakes

This isn’t really something that’s exclusive to Gen Z, but it makes sense that Samsung would use this example for users in this age group. Gen Z users are younger, and therefore may have less experience with cooking and could be more prone to making a mistake that needs to be fixed. In one video, a user is making a Gochujang pasta sauce but ends up adding too much sugar when the lid comes off, and a bunch of spills into the sauce mixture. The user quickly grabs their Galaxy S25 Ultra and asks Gemini what they should do. Gemini then replies, suggesting that they could use the mix to make some cookies. It then follows up by telling the user what to do step by step. Crisis averted.

Another video helps a user avoid the pitfalls of doing their own laundry for the first time. Yet another scenario that could easily present itself in younger users, who may not have had to worry about such a task up until now. It’s a scenario that many of us can probably relate to. We’ve all had to learn how to do our own laundry at one point or another. And it’s unlikely that these experiences were 100% problem-free. The difference now is that AI tools like Gemini are around to quickly give users help. Something that wasn’t around when millennials were growing up.

AI is a core tool for nearly half of Gen Z

If you’re wondering why Samsung is targeting Gen Z with these new ads, there’s a pretty good reason for that. As pointed out by SamMobile, about 40% of Gen Z uses AI for assistance with everyday tasks, according to recent research. That’s nearly half the Gen Z population.

Since Samsung has been focusing heavily on AI since the release of the Galaxy S24 series last year, it makes sense for the company to target an age group in its new ads that uses AI on a daily basis.
