Manufacturing AI startup Frinks AI raises $5.4M led by Prime Ventures Partners

Deep tech startup Frinks AI on Tuesday raised $5.4 million in a pre-Series A round led by Prime Venture Partners, with participation from Chiratae Ventures, Navam Capital, and Ashok Atluri (Founder, Zen Technologies). This brings the company’s total funding to $6.25 million.

The company will use the fresh funds to scale its AI platform globally, ramp up R&D efforts, and strengthen its presence in the US.

“With ongoing supply chain disruptions and rising global trade tensions, we’re seeing a strong push toward localised manufacturing as countries prioritise internal consumption. Frinks AI is at the forefront of this transformation, helping manufacturers worldwide become more competitive, resilient, and future-ready,” said Aditya Agrawal, CEO and Co-founder of Frinks AI, in a statement.

Founded by IIT Hyderabad alumni Aditya Agrawal, Dharmgya Sharma, and Subhra S. Bhattacherjee, Frinks AI is developing next-generation Vision AI systems to assist manufacturers in automating and enhancing quality control on their production lines.

It focuses on building foundational vision models designed for visual inspection and quality assurance in manufacturing environments.

The startup’s Vision AI platform is already deployed by several manufacturers across the automotive, consumer goods, building materials, and medical devices sectors, it said in a statement.

Looking ahead, the company is exploring partnerships with automation firms and OEMs for joint go-to-market initiatives. Its foundational vision models are built to address challenges in industrial machine vision, such as reliability and generalisation.

“Visual inspection in manufacturing has been around for 50 years, but owing to a rule-based approach, its applicability has been limited to <15% of scenarios typical on the assembly line. Frinks has leveraged advancements in image processing, AI compute to develop manufacturing-specific machine vision models," said Brij Bhushan, Partner at Prime VP.

"By combining foundational models with in-house fine-tuning using a small set of images, Frinks is able to guarantee 99.99% accuracy to its customers. It is our pleasure to partner with Aditya, Dharmagya, and Subhra in expanding this 10x product to India as well as taking it global,” he added.

Frinks AI is backed by several industry veterans such as S Ramadorai (former MD and CEO of TCS), V Sumantran (former Executive Director at Tata Motors), Tarun Ramadorai (Professor at Imperial College London), and Gopichand Katragadda (former Group CTO of Tata Sons), who continue to serve as strategic investors and advisors.
