HP’s super-light Ryzen AI laptop with 16GB RAM is only $550 today

It’s been a rough month or so if you’re looking for an affordable laptop, but deals are starting to trickle back into the marketplace. Take this HP laptop, for example. It’s a 13-inch portable design with one of the latest AMD Ryzen processors, and right now you can get it for $549.99 via AntOnline, $370 off the original price. The OmniBook 7 Aero is designed for maximum portability, with a 13.3-inch 1920×1200 screen and 2.2-pound weight. The AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 is a 6-core processor with an integrated NPU—not the fastest on the market but almost sure to run circles around any laptop from three or four years ago. This model also comes with 16GB of RAM (the lowest I’d go for Windows 11) and 512GB of storage. I got a chance to check out this laptop in person earlier this year. As small and light as it is, the laptop has a decent spread of ports, too: double USB-A, double USB-C, and full-sized HDMI, so you can leave the dongle at home. With AMD’s integrated graphics, it should handle medium-duty gaming well enough, too. The only thing I’m not super enamored with on the spec sheet is the battery, which is only 43 watt-hours. While HP says that’ll last you 12 hours and change with mixed use, I’m not so sure. But considering the savings on this deal, I think that’s an acceptable compromise. This is a new laptop, launching just this year, and not refurbished like many deals in this price category. AntOnline is offering free two-day shipping (at least to my address), which is pretty darn good. Get it now while you can!
