Google is now testing AI audio clips to answer your search queries
Last fall, Google launched the Audio Overview feature for its AI tool NotebookLM, which allows you to AI-generate a podcast where two AI voices “discuss” the content of your documents. Now Engadget reports that Google has begun experimenting in a very similar way using Audio Overviews in its search engine. If you submit a longer or more complex Google search query, Audio Overview can kick in and produce a small podcast where two AI voices discuss the answer to your query. The generated discussion is based on the content found in the first page of search results. The feature links to the sources from which it pulls its information, in case you want to double-check the answers. If you find that the AI speaks too slowly, you’ll be able to adjust the playback speed. If you want to give Audio Overview in Google Search a whirl, you should be able to turn on the experimental feature via Search Labs.
