First, AI could write, then it could speak. More AI services are gaining voices in order to make them feel more human. Google has a set of new and hyper-realistic voices that it uses across some of its AI services. In a new report, we found out that Google’s new AI voices are now in Voice Search.
When it comes to AI services, Google has some of the most realistic-sounding voices. Just generate an Audio Overview, and you will understand. The company offers four distinct voices for Gemini Live, and they all sound pretty good. The company later expanded them to AI mode in Google. So, Google has a cast of realistic voices to help define the Gemini experience.
Google Voice Search also has Google’s new voices
Keeping in line with the astronomical theme of Google’s AI (Gemini, originally being a constellation), the new voices are named Cassini, Cosmo, Neso, and Terra. If you are curious about using them, you can easily use Gemini live within the Gemini app.
Google’s four new friends aren’t interested in sticking to one place. The company wants to distribute its voices across several of its platforms. According to an APK deep dive performed by Android Authority, we know the next stop.
The code within the Google app (version 16.20.48.sa.arm64 beta) points to the voices eventually making it to Google Voice search. If you’re unfamiliar with that, it’s been around for quite some time. When you tap on the Google Search widget and use the microphone button, that’s Google Voice Search.
Once you say what you want to search, chances are that there will be a verbal response. You can ask Google pretty much anything, like weather conditions, directions, math problems, recipes, general questions, Etc. Other than hearing an older and more robotic voice, you will hear a more realistic and humanistic voice
If you want to choose which voice to use, go to the Google app, tap on your profile picture, and select the Settings button in the menu. After that, tap on the Voices button about halfway down the page, and you will see the option to choose the voice that you want.
