PS5, PS5 Pro players can enjoy a free PS Store demo for an upcoming sci-fi shooter right now — no PS Plus subscription required. Announced at February 2025’s PlayStation State of Play, Metal Eden is launching on PS5 on May 6, 2025 with PS5 Pro enhancements.
Metal Eden’s free PS Store demo might please Doom fans
Published by Deep Silver, Metal Eden is brought to us by Reikon Games, the folks behind Ruiner. The demo, which might please Doom fans with its adrenaline rush, contains the first two missions.
“The advanced Hyper Unit Aska is sent on a suicide mission to rescue the citizens’ Cores from the vast monolithic city Moebius – once a hopeful new home for humanity now turned into a deadly trap,” reads a synopsis. “Blast your way through the Internal Defense Corps in cybernetic warfare, confront the Engineers, and uncover the mysteries of the project Eden.”
According to its PS Store listing, Metal Eden’s demo is PS5 Pro enhanced. And although a PS Plus membership is not required to play, Premium users can stream the demo directly rather than downloading it.
PS Portal users will need to connect to PS5 to play the demo as it can’t be streamed directly.
