PS Plus Prices Increasing in Some Countries

Today, Sony announced it would be increasing the prices for its video game subscription service PlayStation Plus in select countries. Specifically, this will impact players within the Latin America (LATAM) region.

PS Plus price is increasing in LATAM region

Announced on the LATAM PlayStation Blog, Sony’s reasoning for the PS Plus price increase is due to the current “global market conditions.” The company claims this adjustment will allow it to continue bringing “high-quality games and value-added benefits” to the service.

For PS Plus Essential subscribers, 1-month, 3-month and 12-month subscriptions will now be $7.99, $20.99, and $64.99 respectively. Extra subscribers will pay $11.99, $33.99, and $107.99 for 1, 3, and 12-month subscriptions respectively. Lastly, Premium subscribers will pay $13.99, $39.99, and $124.99 for 1, 3, and 12-month subscriptions respectively. These changes will begin on April 16, 2025.

The PS Plus price change was announced alongside the new Games Catalog additions for April 2025. The LATAM lineup is the same as the U.S. lineup. Headlining the April 2025 Game Catalog lineup is Hogwarts Legacy. Blue Prince, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2, EA Sports PGA Tour, Battlefield 1, and PlateUp! make up the Extra and Premium offerings. Exclusively for Premium subscribers, Alone in the Dark 2 and War of the Monsters are added to the service.

PS Plus Essential subscribers were greeted with three new free games for April 2025. The monthly games this time around includes RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory. All three of these games are available for the entirety of April, and will inevitably be taken off the service on May 5.
