Google Pixel 10: Ultimate Preview Guide
The post Google Pixel 10: Ultimate Preview Guide appeared first on Android Headlines.

The Google Pixel 10 is one of four Pixel phones that Google plans to announce later this year. All four of them will arrive during the same event. The others are the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, unless Google makes major changes to its naming strategy. In this article we’re taking a look at the vanilla Pixel 10 in this article.
We’ll go over all the relevant information that surfaced thus far, so that we can provide you with a clear look at what’s coming. New information will be coming as we’re approaching the launch event, of course, so this article will be updated periodically. As new info arrives, the Pixel 10 puzzle will be getting more and more complete. We already have plenty of information to share, though, so… let’s get to it.
This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Google Pixel 10 (this is a preview article) — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. This is the initial publication of the article, no updates have been made yet.
When will the Google Pixel 10 be released?
This is a mystery at this point. If not for last year, we’d say that the Google Pixel 10 series is coming in October. However, Google changed the game last year. The company announced the Pixel 9 series in August, two months ahead of schedule. So, quite frankly, we’re unsure if that trend will continue, or will Google return back to its original release cycle. The company may want to stick with an August launch, though, to try and trump Samsung and Apple. It’s anyone’s guess at this point, though, we’ll have to wait for more information.
What models are coming?
Google is planning to announce four Pixel 10 models, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. We’ll talk about each of those phones in separate preview articles, however. In regards to the Pixel 10, the model in question here, a single RAM variant is expected, a 12GB RAM model. Google will offer more than one storage option, though, but we’re unsure what those will be. The Pixel 9 arrived in 128GB and 256GB flavors, though things could change with the vanilla Pixel 10.
How much will the Google Pixel 10 cost?
The phone’s price tag is also a mystery at this point. The Google Pixel 9 launched with a $799 price tag for a 128GB storage variant. We’re not sure if Google will be able to keep that price tag fo its successor, even though the Pixel 9 already received a $100 price bump compared to the Pixel 8. We’re hoping that the same price will remain if a 128GB storage model ends up being offered. Google may opt to bump that price up to $849, though, perhaps.
What will the Google Pixel 10 look like?
We do know what the Google Pixel 10 will look like. We’ve exclusively revealed its design via CAD-based renders. It will resemble its predecessor quite a bit, but it will include a third camera on the back. Google has opted to include a tiny telephoto camera, in addition to main (wide) and ultrawide cameras. We’ll talk more about that later on. The Pixel 10 will feature a flat display with thin, uniform bezels. It will also have a centered display camera hole up top.
On the right side, you’ll notice the power/lock key, which sits above the volume up and down buttons. The phone’s frame, all over the sides, will be flat, but not sharp. It will have a taper towards the front and back sides, very slightly, so that it doesn’t cut into your hand. The back side of the phone will be flat as well, proportional to the front, aside from the camera bump, of course.
A pill-shaped camera bar will sit on the back
As you can see, a horizontal camera bar will sit on the back of the phone. That camera bar has a pill shape, and it almost stretches from the right to the left sides, but not quite, it doesn’t connect to the phone’s sides. It will protrude on the back, quite a bit, it would seem. Three cameras will sit in there (in the black portion), with an LED flash also being a part of that camera bar. Google’s logo sits right in the middle of the phone’s back.
The Pixel 10 will almost certainly be made out of aluminum and glass, just like its predecessor. What you cannot see here is an in-display fingerprint scanner that will also be included. The phone itself will have similar dimensions to its predecessor, which will roughly be 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm, based on the CAD renders. The thickness with a camera bar will also be almost identical (12mm).
The device surfaced in an ad photoshoot
The phone was also spotted in an ad photoshoot months ahead of launch, believe it or not, as you can see below. Google is really having a hard time keeping things under wraps. The phone is allegedly coming in Obsidian (Black), Blue, Iris (Purple), and Limoncello (Yellow) colors.
What specs will the Google Pixel 10 have?
The specifications that surfaced thus far are not exactly giving us a full picture, far from it. However, some details did leak, and we can assume some too. The Google Pixel 10 will be fueled by the Google Tensor G5 processor. That will be Google’s very own chip, and the very first Tensor processor made by TSMC. Samsung made them thus far, and this is expected to be a considerable jump due to TSMC’s manufacturing advantages. Many are expecting this chip to be on par with the competition from Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple. It is expected to be a 3nm chip, by the way, with a MediaTek modem.
TSMC-made Google Tensor G5 processor will fuel it
The Tensor G5 will allegedly use the 1+5+2 CPU cluster. It will have a single prime performance core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores. Google is tipped to use five Cortex-A725 CPU cores for performance, and two Cortex-A520 CPU cores for efficiency. It’s interesting that one report said that the Tensor G5 won’t be a huge performance upgrade, but that it could boost the camera performance. Faster startup performance is expected, though, amongst other benefits.
Its RAM and storage details did not leak out yet, but we’re guessing the phone will include 12GB of RAM, just like its predecessor. We could once again see 128GB and 256GB storage models, Android 16 will come pre-installed on the devices, though the new Material 3 Expressive UI could arrive later on. A 4,700mAh battery is expected once again, though that’s just a wild guess at this point.
The Pixel 10 will include one extra camera on the back (compared to the Pixel 9)
What about the cameras? The phone is expected to have three cameras on the back, compared to two on the Pixel 9. A 50-megapixel main camera is expected, with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. That could be the Samsung GN8 sensor. The Sony IMX712 sensor will be used for an ultrawide camera, a 13-megapixel 1/3.1-inch sensor. The telephoto camera, on the other hand, will be an 11-inch 1/3-inch sensor, allegedly, the Samsung 3J1 sensor. Those are rather modest sensors, especially for ultrawide and telephoto cameras. This is the entry model in the series, though, so… there you go.
The Google Pixel 10 will allegedly measure 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm, 12mm with the camera bump. The phone is coming in Obsidian (Black), Blue, Iris (Purple), and Limoncello (Yellow) colors.
Should you wait to buy the Google Pixel 10?
Is the Google Pixel 10 a phone for you? Should you buy it? Well, it’s way too early to answer that question, but it will have some benefits over the Pixel 9, based on what we’re seeing here. The addition of a telephoto camera is welcomed, as is a new processor, the TSMC-made Tensor G5. We’d say those are the two main additions compared to the Pixel 9. We still don’t have a full picture, though, so… it’s too early to tell whether it’s worth it.
