From real-time AI search to India’s growing AI education ecosystem, this week showcased how artificial intelligence is rapidly shaping tech, work, and learning across sectors.
OpenAI releases enterprise AI deployment guide
OpenAI has published a comprehensive guide, AI in the Enterprise, to help businesses integrate large language models like GPT-4. Based on real-world implementations at companies such as Morgan Stanley and Klarna, the guide emphasises system evaluation, model fine-tuning, and internal team collaboration.
It also introduces “Operator,” an experimental AI agent that performs tasks with minimal input. Though still in development, Operator signals OpenAI’s move toward task-based AI for enterprise automation.
Google’s Gemini AI opens to kids, launches developer upgrades
Google made two key announcements this week:
- Gemini AI for Children: Kids under 13 can now access Gemini through supervised Google Family Link accounts. While the tool offers educational support, safety advocates warn of risks without robust content controls.
- Gemini 2.5 Pro Launch: Aimed at developers, the latest Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview boosts coding support, video comprehension, and web development capabilities. The model now leads the WebArena benchmark for AI-generated websites.
Claude AI adds real-time web search
Anthropic’s Claude AI now features live web search via a newly launched API. The tool retrieves and cites up-to-date internet information, enabling real-time answers.
Developers can customise when Claude accesses the web—ideal for customer service, news platforms, or financial tools. The move positions Claude as a strong competitor to ChatGPT and Gemini AI.
India doubles down on AI education
India launched two major AI education initiatives:
- IIT Madras unveiled five free online AI courses through SWAYAM Plus, covering subjects like AI in chemistry, accounting, and cricket analytics—no coding experience required.
- Symbiosis International University announced India’s first AI-dedicated institute within a university. Launching in July 2025, it will offer BSc and BBA degrees in artificial intelligence.
Microsoft backs Google’s A2A Agent protocol
In a rare cross-industry collaboration, Microsoft adopted Google’s Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol. The open standard allows AI agents from different platforms to communicate and execute tasks together.
A2A will be integrated into Azure AI Studio and Copilot Studio, supporting enterprise-grade AI collaboration and automation.
Apple explores AI-powered search, threatens Google dominance
Testimony from Apple executive Eddy Cue during a U.S. antitrust trial revealed that Apple is considering partnerships with OpenAI, Perplexity, and Anthropic to bring AI search tools to Safari.
The move could reduce reliance on Google Search, which pays Apple an estimated $20 billion annually to remain the default engine. Google responded by expanding its Gemini-powered search offerings.
