The big anniversary patch back in March certainly made Cities Skylines 2 a lot better, bringing with it vital improvements to the employment system and other key parts of the simulation. But Paradox and Colossal Order still have work to do on the city-building sequel. 18 months since launch, Cities 2 feels less accomplished than its genre-redefining predecessor. With Manor Lords, Civilization 7, and a new version of Frostpunk filling up the strategy space, CO’s game wants a bolt of energy - and this could be it. Originally slated for the second quarter of 2025, the new Cities Skylines 2 DLC Bridges and Ports may be making land sooner rather than later.
