We’re not far from the official unveiling of the Galaxy Watch 8. We’ve exclusively revealed what all the 2025 models will look like. Leaks from other sources confirmed our report and added additional details. That said, it seems the design of the Galaxy Watch 8 series was always “hidden” where we least expected it: right under our noses.

Samsung’s next Unpacked event will go down next month. Over the years, Samsung has been pushing its second Unpacked event date up. Recently, the event has been going down in July. So, there’s not much longer to wait. During the event, we know that Samsung will unveil its new line of foldable phones along with its upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch.

The Galaxy Watch 8’s design has been hidden right under our noses

Samsung hasn’t really changed its Galaxy Watch design much over the years. The company has pretty much cornered the round wearable market, but it changed things up with the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year. This device resurrected the company’s squircle design. So, it makes sense that the next-gen models would follow the same guidelines.

However, it seems that Samsung quietly confirmed the look of the Galaxy Watch 8 series a while back. Yes, as reported by SamMobile, Samsung threw it in our faces, but nobody noticed. We’re not talking about a leaked photograph or render. Rather, we see it hidden in an app icon.

Android 15 based-One UI 7 unveiled new clock icons in the UI. These clock icons share the same squircle design. Well, this design perfectly lines up with the renders of the Galaxy Watch 8 series. So, it appears that this new app icon pretty much foreshadowed a redesign for the Galaxy Watch line.

Of course, it could be a coincidence. However, the look seems too similar to not have been intentional. Be that as it may, it’s curious that we always had the look of Samsung’s next smartwatches and never knew it.
