Day 1137 : Double Trouble
liner notes: Professional : Another chill day at work. Had a couple of meetings. Researched and responded to some community questions. Went over the code that I worked on and finally got working (with the help of AI). Next thing I know, the day is over. Personal : Last night I was able to get authentication and database hooked up to my project. When I went to get the service key to be able to do things on the server, that's when things fell apart. haha. I was getting an error that my organization doesn't allow for me to get the service key. I have a Google Workspace and the amount of things I'm not allowed to do on the thing I set up is amazing! haha Every time something like this happens, I know I'm in for a long night. haha Add in the fact that I would have to go digging through the Google Cloud Platform dashboard, I knew I was in double trouble. Many blog posts, documentation pages, Reddit threads, queries to AI, I wasn't able to get anything working. Defeated, I called it a night and watched the new episode of "Daredevil: Born Again". Got up early before work and was determined to get this issue working. Maybe because I gave it some time or looking at it with new eyes, but at the bottom of one of the blog posts that I tried the steps had a command that I could run in the GCP terminal. As a last ditch effort, I ran the command, went back to the dashboard and was able to download the service key!!! Then it was time for work. haha. During my lunch break, I went through a blog post and sample application that combined the framework and payment platform I'm using for this project. There were a couple of things different, but I was able to get it working and extend it to start implementing other features like calculating shipment options and verifying the customer's shipping address using some other APIs. Made some really good progress in a short amount of time. My plan tonight is to get the payment with shipping working and implemented in my project. Once I get the data back from the payment process, I'll be able to write some data to my database from the backend with my new service key. With that, the person will be able to log in and see their purchases with the authentication that I set up last night. Things are coming together. I reached out to the artist I'm working with on this project to update them, show them the 3D print and get their thoughts on some ideas I had. I also, showed them the vinyl mockup I got back from the manufacturer. Good thing I did because he noticed that the vinyl colors were different from what we chose. I let the manufacturer know and luckily they hadn't started printing the records yet. Whew! That could have been tragic! haha. A lot is happening, going to get dinner and some stuff done. Have a great night! peace piece Dwane / conshus https://dwane.io / https://HIPHOPandCODE.com
