Summary: Details hidden within the T-Life app point to T-Mobile potentially launching its own credit card in the future. The company could partner with Capital One as the bank to handle the card. This is all still early information.
So many companies come with their own cards, that it’s hard to keep up with them. It appears that having a vice grip on your money and credit score seems to be a lucrative venture. We’re all used to companies shoving these cards down our throats every time we interact with their products.
Well, one of the most popular mobile carriers in the U.S., T-Mobile, hasn’t shown much of an interest in bringing its own card to the market. However, according to a new report, it looks like that is about to change.
T-Mobile could launch its own credit card
At this point, you’ll want to take this news with a grain of salt. While it’s from a reputable source, T-Mobile hasn’t made any official announcements just yet.
While digging into the code in the T-Life app, the folks at The T-Mobile Report were able to find a clue pointing to a potential credit card from the company. The image below shows what the credit card could look like. It has the magenta color that T-Mobile is known for, along with some other details. We see that the company will issue Visa cards, and the bank it chose is Capital One.
Other than that, there’s no other information. Since the card’s image is present in the app, we’re sure that you’ll be able to link it to your account. We’re sure that the company will also issue a physical card, but that remains to be seen. Other information, like the APY and perks, is anyone’s guess. It would be nice if the company would offer some sort of perks dealing with your monthly bill.
Only time will tell. T-Mobile has been looking for more ways to raise its revenue, and some of them include raising its prices. Also, the company is in hot water because it’s charging some people for free lines. So, we don’t know how well the credit cards will go over with customers.
