The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake is the new worst-kept secret in gaming. There have been leaks for years that have suggested the beloved 2006 Bethesda RPG would be revived for modern gaming platforms. Now, several images of the remake have leaked, all but confirming the game’s existence.

What are The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake leaked images?

The leak comes from the Oblivion remake’s developer Virtuos (as pointed out in the game’s subreddit), which are actual images for the game, including key art and some in-game screenshot comparisons. Many of the images are from locations in Cyrodiil, the game’s setting. There are a couple of images with character models as well. Overall, it gives a solid first look at the yet-to-be-announced game.

The leak also confirms the official title will be The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and that it will have a Deluxe Edition. It is hard to make out exactly what is included, but it does seem the heavily memed horse armor is set to return.

The release date for the Oblivion remake on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC is still unknown. However, journalist and insider Jeff Grubb recently suggested that the game was set to shadow-drop the week of April 21 (seen in the clip above), which is next week as of this writing.

Some features of the Oblivion remake have been hinted at for a while now. Recently, the Technical Art Director at Virtuos listed themself working on an “unannounced UE5 PS5/XSX/PC remake” on LinkedIn, suggested the leaked game could be built with Unreal Engine 5. Additionally, a former employee from the developer listed new features being implemented like a soulslike blocking system and an improved stamina system.

Now that it seems the Oblivion remake is coming in the next week or so, this means Microsoft is launching four first-party games within a single month. Along with the Bethesda remake, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition all launch on PS5 between now and May 6.
