Brutal new shooter skillfully combines Half-Life with Rockstar's Manhunt

I feel like it’s one of those abstract, fluid unquantifiables - what makes one FPS game feel good versus another? I know when I play it. Doom. Half-Life. FEAR. Trepang2. But I still can’t fully reverse engineer the dynamics. With that in mind, Pigface - despite its grim, sleazy, DV-camera aesthetic - is ever so slightly magical. It’s a horrible game criticism cliche, and it doesn’t tell you enough, but at the same time, I know you know what I mean when I say that the shooting here feels great. Somewhere between the GoldSrc classics of Valve’s heyday and the brutality of Hotline Miami and Rockstar’s Manhunt, armed with a new publisher, Pigface is definitely one to watch.
