A trilogy of acclaimed classic shooters that previously released on the PS4 is seemingly getting a native PS5 upgrade soon, if a rating board entry is any indication. STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy — which contains the first three games in the series — released for the PS4 in March 2024.
STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy PS5 upgrade might be free for existing owners
As spotted by Gematsu, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the STALKER Trilogy have been rated in Taiwan, indicating a release soon. GSC World previously confirmed that it planned to upgrade the title, but didn’t provide a release date.
It’s possible that the PS5 upgrade will be free for existing owners considering STALKER Trilogy released just a year ago on the last-gen platform. However, GSC World has yet to confirm if there will be a small upgrade fee involved or not.
We’ll be a little surprised if the upgrade isn’t offered for free to existing owners since the trilogy costs $39.99 on the PS Store.
The package includes:
- STALKER: Shadow of Chornobyl (2007)
- STALKER.: Clear Sky (2008)
- STALKER: Call of Prypiat (2009)
All three games are currently playable on the PS5 via backwards compatibility but their performance isn’t exactly stellar.
