Prosus views India as an “incredible opportunity”; exceeds goal for its ecommerce portfolio

Prosus NV on Thursday said it continues to see an incredible opportunity in India after its portfolio company Swiggy listed on public bourses last year, as well as following its investments in ride-hailing company Rapido.

The Dutch company trimmed its position in the Bengaluru-based foodtech and quick commerce company upon listing and during the year. The firm has invested a total of $8.6 billion in Indian startups, including in IPO-bound Urban Company and Meesho.

“We have seen a very good return already, and we continue to see a lot of opportunity in the region,” said Fabricio Bloisi, CEO of Prosus, in a statement.

Additionally, the firm has benefited from its ecommerce portfolio in FY25, churning out more than $400 million in aEBIT (adjusted EBIT).

“I am very happy to say we have exceeded our goal and will report more than $435 million for the year. For FY 2026, I want to achieve at least the same level of incremental aEBIT,” Bloisi added.

Moreover, Prosus-owned Dutch-based classifieds company OLX is growing close to 20% in revenue, surpassing its peers. According to the statement, its aEBIT increased by over 50% this year to about $270 million.

During this year, the firm also acquired Despegar, a Latin America-based online travel agency, which is expected to be integrated into Prosus’ larger ecosystem.

The company also acquired JustEatTakeaway earlier this year for 4.1 billion euros, which will add to the firm’s global footprint in the food delivery sector.

Prosus is also banking on its bets on artificial intelligence, including Corti, which develops AI for healthcare use cases, and Aletra, an applied research company building AI agents for open-ended computer use.
