A recently delayed PS5 game might not be headed for cancellation after all despite credible reports of development troubles. Back in early May, we reported that BioShock creator Ken Levine’s Judas was quietly delayed after Take-Two had expressed confidence in its release by March 2025. Now, players have spotted some signs of life.
PS5 game Judas was quietly delayed amid development hell reports
We’re not sure if we should call this update good news or bad news, but Judas — which is being developed by Ghost Story Games — is looking for developers. The good news is, Judas is still being worked on. The bad news? After all these years, Ghost Story is still looking to fill major roles.
Now, it’s not unheard of for developers to depart studios in the midst of development, but that Judas is currently without a “director of gameplay engineering” somewhat corroborates Bloomberg’s 2022 report about its development troubles.
“We are currently working on Judas and would love for you to be part of our team,” reads a new job ad. Just to illustrate how significant this role is, Ghost Story is looking for someone who has “10+ years’ experience in the game industry with at least 3 shipped AAA titles.”
Whether Judas will see the light of day or not remains to be seen. For now, we can confirm that the game is nowhere close to being canceled.
