Kojima Explains Why Physint Is His Return To MGS-Like Action/Espionage

In addition to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Hideo Kojima has his next few years of game development laid out for him between his horror title OD and Physint, an upcoming action-espionage game that will revisit the genre of his most famous creation, Metal Gear Solid. Now, Kojima has disclosed that the genesis of his return to the MGS-style genre came during a personal health crisis."Of course, I have lots of new ideas that I want to create, but when I became sick during the pandemic, I realized that a lot of people wanted me to make something like Metal Gear," Kojima told Edge Magazine via GamesRadar. "That's when I had the idea for a new espionage game. I reflected, and thought the idea was good."Like the Death Stranding games, Physint will be published by Sony, while OD will be published by Microsoft. Earlier this year, Kojima noted that both games have been impacted by the ongoing voice actors strike.
