Apple, at the WWDC 2025 event, announced iOS 26, which brings a brand new UI design after a long time. The company calls it “Liquid Glass.” While most of yesterday’s keynote revolved around that design language, there was one specific iOS 26 feature that grabbed the attention of many. Here we’re talking about the iOS 26’s battery charging time estimation feature, which was first reported by Mark Gurman.

iOS 26 brings a battery charging estimation feature

You must be aware that Android phones have already had this feature for years now. Well, Apple fans are finally getting it with iOS 26. So, what exactly is this feature all about? The battery charging time estimation feature in iOS 26 displays how long it takes for your iPhone battery to hit 100 percent.

That’s not all; the charging estimation feature also tells time required for your iPhone’s battery to reach 80 percent. Of course, you’ll only see it when the battery level is below 80 percent. All this information is visible on the iOS 26 lockscreen as well as in the Settings app’s Battery section.

As far as Android phones and tablets are concerned, these details related to charging time estimation appear similarly on the lockscreen and the Battery section inside the Settings app. Android devices don’t just show the battery charging estimation, but also display how long the battery will last. The estimation is provided based on your usage pattern and current charge levels.

The “Adaptive Power” mode is also there

Besides charging time estimation, Apple also revealed that iOS 26 adds an Adaptive Power mode toggle, at the WWDC 2025 event. As with Android devices, this one also makes small performance adjustments based on the smartphone usage. This way, your device consumes less power and lasts a bit longer. All that said, there’s no information on whether the charging time estimation and other related features will be available to all iPhone models compatible with iOS 26.
