Google Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger brings MagSafe-style Qi 2 support
The Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger could finally bring magnetic Qi 2 support to Android after Google excluded it from the Pixel 9. The post Google Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger brings MagSafe-style Qi 2 support appeared first on Phandroid.

The Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger could finally give Android users what they’ve been asking for: true Qi2 magnetic charging, no workarounds required. Even though Apple donated MagSafe tech to the Wireless Power Consortium in 2023, hardly any Android phones support Qi2 magnets out of the box. A few models technically work with Qi2, but you often need a magnetic case or extra accessories to get the full experience.
That’s why the Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger feels like a big shift. Leaked marketing materials discovered by Android Authority suggest Google’s prepping a full “Pixelsnap” ecosystem, including the standard Pixelsnap Charger, a stand version, and a ring stand. Basically, Google’s aiming to deliver the same simple, satisfying magnetic charging that iPhone users have had for years.
It’s a notable change in strategy. The Pixel 9 skipped Qi2 entirely—Google claimed Qi was already good enough and there were “no tangible benefits” to switching at the time. This year, though, things are different. Not only is Google embracing Qi2.2 and magnetic charging, but the new Pixelsnap gear will likely pair with the phone’s rumored Hub Mode, turning your Pixel 10 into a little smart display when docked—think iPhone Standby Mode, but for Android.
The Pixel 10 Pixelsnap charger could be one of the phone’s headline features this year. If you’re tired of buying magnetic cases or missing out on faster, more convenient charging, this might be the Pixel upgrade that finally feels like a real leap. We’ll find out for sure when the Pixel 10 launches in August.
