HONOR Magic V3 Review AM AH 09

After launching the Magic V3 last year with a slim waistline of 4.35mm, HONOR is now all set to launch the successor, the Magic V5, soon. Ahead of the launch, leaks have already revealed a few details about the upcoming foldable phone from HONOR. Now, HONOR executive Li Kun has shared some details regarding the launch timeframe of the Magic V5, apart from touting that the foldable “will still be the lightest and thinnest” on the market.

HONOR could announce the Magic V5 as the thinnest foldable in June

An HONOR executive stated on Weibo that many fans have been inquiring about the release date of the next-gen foldable device from the company. He simply said that the brand will launch the device in the first half of this year. While Kun hasn’t revealed an exact launch date, we can safely assume the foldable handset to go official at some point in June. Kun didn’t reveal the name of the phone. However, the rumors suggest the company will call it the HONOR Magic V5.

Furthermore, Kun has hinted that the HONOR Magic V5 will be the lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone, apart from offering the regular version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. HONOR will have to offer a waistline under 9mm in the folded state if it wants the Magic V5 to be the slimmest offering in its segment. To compare, the Magic V3 measures 9.2mm around the waist in the folded state and 4.35mm in the unfolded mode.

The Magic V5 could be available in these premium hues

Apart from the HONOR executive, a tipster who goes by the name “Experience More” on Weibo has shared some purported details of the Magic V5. As per the leakster, HONOR will offer the Magic V5 in two premium colour variants, including “Silk Road Dunhuang” and “Velvet Black”.

Furthermore, the source claims that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will power HONOR’s next foldable offering. The device will have a rated battery capacity of 5,950mAh, which will support 66W fast charging. Recent Chinese certifications of the phone have also hinted at the same battery capacity.

In addition to the Magic V5, rumors indicate that HONOR will also launch the Magic V Flip 2, a clamshell foldable smartphone. If we believe the reports, this model will get the previous-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Unfortunately, other details of the phone remain under the curtain at the moment. But we expect the rumor mill to share some information in the coming days, so stay tuned.
