Samsung continues to boost its eligible models with the One UI 7 update. However, this doesn’t mean that security patches are being overlooked. The South Korean tech giant has now started rolling out the May 2025 patch for the Galaxy A56, which brings a handy feature and improves user security.

Well, usually Samsung’s security updates eliminate vulnerabilities in the system and offer users a more secure experience. However, the May 2025 patch seems to be a bit different from the others. This time, Samsung Galaxy A56 owners can quickly launch Gemini AI by holding down the side button with the new update.

This feature was only available on the Galaxy S25 series, for those who don’t know. However, it is now making its way to a Galaxy A series smartphone for the first time with the May 2025 update. Other mid-range phone owners can also expect this feature very soon.

Activating this feature is pretty easy. Galaxy A56 users can trigger Gemini by holding down the side button for a few seconds. When you do this, the AI will appear as a small pill at the bottom of the screen. If you’re not using Gemini, you can customize the side button to assign Bixby.

And that’s not all. Users can now get Gemini’s help in Samsung apps like Calendar, Notes, and Clock. For example, you can ask the AI to save the summary of a YouTube video to the Notes app. This will significantly increase cross-application functionality.

May 2025 patch fixes 20 vulnerabilities in Samsung’s software

As mentioned above, the main focus of the May 2025 patch is to fix security issues. The update addresses multiple high-severity exploits found in the Android operating system, along with 20 vulnerabilities discovered in Samsung’s software.

To install the update on your smartphone, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Make sure you’re connected to a stable Wi-Fi network to ensure a smooth installation process. Also, back up your important data beforehand to avoid potential data loss.
