The next Battlefield game from EA, which doesn’t yet have an official name, will launch by next year, according to the publisher, although it doesn’t give an exact date yet. Details about the game’s release schedule were part of announcements made during the company’s latest quarterly earnings call. The next Battlefield game from EA has been in testing since earlier this year as part of the company’s new Battlefield Labs initiative.

Battlefield Labs is a system where players are invited to play the game during active development. This allows developers can take player feedback and apply it to the game. EA wants players to be a big part of the development process during what it’s calling a critical phase, noting that co-collaboration with the community is an important part of shaping the upcoming release. If you haven’t already registered for Battlefield Labs, you still can. And if you’re interested in trying the next Battlefield out before its launch, you should have plenty of time to do so, given that EA is likely to do more Labs tests since the launch is still a long way off.

The next Battlefield will launch by March 2026

EA doesn’t explicitly state the launch date of the next Battlefield, but it does give players some idea of what to expect. During its quarterly earnings call, the company said the game would launch by March 2026. Of course, this is assuming nothing happens between now and then that could cause the need for a delay. After all, GTA VI was supposed to release this Fall. Take-Two stated multiple times that the game was still on track for that launch window, and it was recently delayed till May 2026. So, anything is possible here, and the next Battlefield is not exempt from this possibility.

The other thing to take into account is that EA isn’t saying the game will launch in March 2026. Just that it will launch by March 2026. That seems like a safe bet in assuming it won’t be out in 2025. However, that still leaves anytime between January 2026 and March 2026 for the release. A whole three months.

More details about the game will be revealed this Summer

In addition to giving players a launch window, EA has also confirmed when it will share more information about the game. Some details about the next Battlefield have surfaced already through the Battlefield Labs tests and EA’s official communications. That being said, most of the details about the game have been kept under wraps. At least outside of what EA has already shared.

That will be changing relatively soon as EA looks to share details about the next Battlefield this Summer. EA doesn’t go into specifics about what details will be revealed. Nor does it mention when during the Summer it has the reveal lined up for.
