One of the Scariest PS4 Horror Games Is $5 on PS Store

Along with the PlayStation Store’s Next Level Savings sales promotion, it is currently putting the spotlight on some indie titles that are currently available at steep discounts. The PlayStation Indies sale allows PS4 and PS5 users to save up to 75% on some of the best independent games the consoles have to offer. This includes a horror game some would claim is among the scariest.

Horror game Outlast is $5 on the PS Store

Outlast is currently $4.99 on the PS Store. This is a 75% discount off its typical $19.99 price tag. Players will want to act fast if they want to take advantage of this great deal. The offer ends on May 29 at 2:59 a.m. ET.

“In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum,” reads the game’s description. “A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the ‘research and charity’ branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, the asylum has been operating in strict secrecy… until now.”

“Acting on a tip from an anonymous source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely,” continues the description. “Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.”

Players who end up enjoying Outlast can grab its DLC, Whistleblower. Although it tells the story that led to Outlast, it also acts as a final chapter for the survival horror experience. Although it isn’t on sale, it costs $8.99. This means PS4 and PS5 users can get the base game and its DLC for just $13.98.

When Outlast launched back in 2013, it was critically received well. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 80 across 59 critic reviews.
