Galaxy S25 FE chipset confirmed—and it’s not the upgrade we hoped for

Well, the mystery is over. A new benchmark listing confirms the Galaxy S25 FE will be powered by the Exynos 2400e—yes, the same chip that ran the Galaxy S24 FE.
This lines up with what we heard back in April, when a leak first pointed to the Exynos 2400e making a return for the S25 FE. However, our hopes were briefly raised earlier this week when another rumor suggested Samsung might go with a MediaTek chip instead—possibly as a cost-saving twist. That now looks unlikely.
Instead, Samsung is sticking with the 2400e. The Exynos 2400e is a slightly underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 used in the Galaxy S24 and S24+. And if the benchmark is accurate, the S25 FE will come with 8GB of RAM. This means no upgrade to 12GB just yet.
If you’re hoping for a Snapdragon variant, don’t hold your breath. The Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Galaxy S25 series is expensive. Let’s not forget that Samsung already skipped it for the S24 FE, even in the U.S. That trend looks set to continue.
There is one small upside. Like the Galaxy S21 FE, the S25 FE will ship with a newer version of Android and One UI out of the box. That gives it a slight edge in long-term updates. Samsung’s update policy means the S25 FE could get Android 23, one version ahead of the standard S25 models.
So while performance might not get a boost, software longevity just might.
