It’s not unheard of for publishers to increase prices of new games in a variety of regions, owing to economic factors. However, increasing prices of older games is a little perplexing.
Over on Reddit, a player reported that RDR1, RDR2, and a bundle combining them both went up in price in both U.K. and Brazil. However, another Redditor pointed out that these price hikes started back in April, and affected a large number of countries including Japan, Sweden, Norway, and South Africa. Meanwhile, some countries including Mexico, Switzerland and Czech Republic got a price cut.
In the U.K., RDR1 went up by over £10, and RDR2 went up by more than £5.
At the time of this writing, it’s unclear if it’s only Rockstar Games that has adjusted prices of older games on online storefronts. We’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep our readers posted.
