PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium add new titles to its Game Catalog every month. One of these was the critically acclaimed RPG from Sabotage Studio, Sea of Stars. Originally released in 2023, the award-winning indie game released a new sizeable DLC today, and it’s available for free on the PS Store.
Former PS Plus Extra game Sea of Stars gets DLC
Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker is the new DLC for the lauded RPG. Available at no additional cost, the extra content includes over eight hours of gameplay, which includes new areas, music, dungeons, mini-games, enemies, bosses, and puzzles. There are also new playable classes and characters, and the update also adds couch co-op with up to three players.
“Throes of the Watchmaker sends Solstice Warriors Valere and Zale on a side-adventure into the miniature, clockwork world of Horloge, where a cursed carnival threatens its innocent denizens,” reads the description. “To survive, they’ll need to play by unfamiliar rules and confront not only the mischievous Puppeteer and her minions, but also their own darker traits.”
Right now, Sea of Stars is available on the PS Store for $34.99. Unfortunately, it is no longer part of PS Plus’ Game Catalog. For players unsure about purchasing the RPG, there is a free demo that allows players to play a small slice of the game. The demo is designed to hide major story spoilers, and is meant to showcase its mechanics.
Like the base game, Throes of the Watchmaker looks to be worth revisiting Sea of Stars. Most reviews just posted today are are rate it highly.

Although Sea of Stars is no longer a PS Plus game, Sony recently added tons of new games to keep Extra and Premium subscribers busy. This includes games like Sand Land and Soul Hackers 2, which also have free DLC available on the PS Store.
