The current PS Store sales promotion is coming to a close. Some of the best and worst PS4 and PS5 games that are currently on sale will no longer be available at decent discounts. This includes this adventure game that is arguably the worst both PlayStation platforms have ever seen.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is 80% off on PS Store
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is currently 80% off on the PS Store. This brings the game down to $5.99 from its typical $29.99 price point. Any PS5 and PS4 players morbidly curious about this critically panned game will have to act fast. The deal ends on May 22 at 2:59 a.m. ET.
“He’s got nothing more to lose… How far will he go to retrieve his Precious? Taking place in parallel to the events described in The Fellowship of the Ring , The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game and an epic interactive experience,” reads the description. “You play as the enigmatic Gollum on his perilous journey and find out how he outwitted the most powerful characters in Middle-earth.”
Players who want to see everything The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has to offer can grab the Precious Edition for $7.99. This is 80% off its usual $39.99 price tag. This includes the base game, Lore Compendium, Sindarin Voiceover, Art Exhibition, and Original Soundtrack.
When The Lord of the Rings: Gollum launched in 2023, it did not review well. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, it received an average score of 33 across 56 critic reviews.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was one of the first PS5 games to be revealed. After receiving the overwhelmingly negative reviews, developer Daedelic Entertainment canned its next Lord of the Rings game, and is no longer developing games.
