Medyseva: Transforming Rural India’s Healthcare Access
Here's how Medyseva is redefining rural healthcare in India through tech-enabled clinics and institutional partnerships!

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Vishesh Kasliwal conducted video consultations from his clinic, often connecting with patients from India's most underserved rural areas. The stark lack of access to even basic healthcare in these regions wasn’t a temporary crisis, it was a persistent reality.
That realisation catalysed a transformative journey. Leveraging his 12 years of experience in healthcare and dual qualifications—MBBS and an MBA in Healthcare Management from the UK—Dr. Kasliwal, alongside his wife and marketing expert Rachita Kasliwal, founded Medyseva in February 2022. Their vision: to democratize healthcare access for rural and semi-urban India using technology and compassion.
A Phygital Promise: What Medyseva Does
Medyseva, a blend of “medical” and “seva” (service), operates through a phygital model—telemedicine-enabled physical clinics embedded within rural communities. These clinics provide real-time consultations, diagnostics, and medicines through a tech-driven platform that includes MedyVend, a first-of-its-kind doctor-operated medicine vending machine.
What sets Medyseva apart is its institution-led, fully managed approach, partnering with private hospitals, medical colleges, and doctor consortia to deliver quality, scalable care. Each clinic is staffed with trained nurses and digitally connected to urban specialists, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.
Building Bharat’s Healthcare Backbone
India's rural population constitutes nearly 70% of its total demographic, yet only 20% of the country’s doctors serve these areas. Medyseva directly addresses this imbalance through its scalable B2B2C model.
Key Services Include:
- Teleconsultations with city-based specialists
- Automated dispensing via MedyVend
- On-site diagnostics and e-prescriptions
- Vertical care modules like Medymind (mental health), Medyshe (women’s health), Medyvision (eye care), and Medydiet (nutrition)
The platform also empowers medical institutions to expand their outpatient reach while delivering last-mile healthcare to patients within walking distance.
Team, Technology, and Traction
Led by Dr. Vishesh (CEO), Rachita (CMO), Mehul Jain (CTO), and Dr. Vasundhara Shukla (COO), Medyseva combines clinical acumen, tech innovation, and operational excellence.
With over 100,000 patients served and ₹2 crore in cumulative revenue, Medyseva’s evolution from a franchise model to a fully managed system has resulted in a deeper impact and stronger institutional trust.
Backed by investors such as Mohit Gulati and supported through the Startup India Seed Fund, the startup’s footprint now spans multiple states, with ambitious plans to reach 500 clinics by 2028 and ₹150 crore in revenue.
Overcoming Challenges, One Clinic at a Time
Medyseva’s journey hasn’t been without hurdles. From digital illiteracy and infrastructure gaps to shifting deep-seated community behaviours, the startup has had to navigate complex ground realities.
Its biggest lesson? "Build for Bharat, not just in Bharat." Simplifying tech, investing in training, and building trust at the grassroots have been essential to Medyseva’s success.
Scaling with Substance
Looking forward, Medyseva has set its sights on ambitious but achievable milestones. Over the next three years, the startup aims to scale operations to 100 fully managed clinics across Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat by 2026. It also plans to integrate its teleconsultation services with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, expand its doctor consortium model, and deploy MedyVend machines across all new centres.
Long-term goals include reaching 500 clinics by 2028, generating ₹150 crore in cumulative revenue, and introducing urban health solutions for Tier 2 and 3 cities. Further innovations such as AI-driven diagnostics and micro-pharmacy hubs are in the pipeline, reinforcing Medyseva’s vision to become India’s most trusted rural healthtech network.
