It’s hard to believe, but Gemini has only been around for a little over a year, with its predecessor, Bard, being announced in December 2023. But it has only been available on smartphones and the web, for the most part. That changes today.

Google announced at The Android Show: I/O Edition today that Gemini is coming to Wear OS, Android Auto, and Google TV. Now, we already saw it in action on Google TV back at CES in January, so that’s not really a surprise.

The best part? This update requires no subscription to Gemini Advanced.

Talk to Gemini from your wrist and remember things like your locker combination, where you parked and much more. You can also ask Gemini about a restaurant that your friend emailed you about.

Take Gemini on the road

If you use Android Auto, you likely use Google Assistant quite often to do different tasks. Well now, Gemini can do all of that for you. Gemini can be used with hands-free commands. Gemini upgrades this experience by understanding natural conversation. So you don’t have to focus on giving it the correct prompt.

Gemini can find you the best route, get you help along the way, and even message your friends and family that you’re stuck in traffic.

Google says that Gemini for Android Auto and Google Built-in will begin rolling out in the coming months.

Gemini can supercharge your Google TV experience

Google demoed Gemini on Google TV for us back at CES, and now it looks like they have a bit more polish on the OS. Gemini will be able to give you tailored recommendations, answer questions like who’s this actress and much more. It can also pull up the perfect YouTube video for you.

Google has not yet mentioned when this will start rolling out. However, when we had our demo at CES, they did say “later this year”.
