This guide continues below with the three trials for Shattered Veil.
Sconce step
First, you need the Ray Gun Mark II-W variant of the Wonder Weapon.
Grab the Sconce (Lamp) item from the cardboard box in the corner of the Banquet Hall. Take this item to the Grand Foyer next to Juggernog.
There is one lamp already next to Juggernog, and you want to place yours to the right of it. Then, interacting with the lamp on the left will start a game of Simon Says with the two lamps. Interact with them in the order they light up, and after three rounds of this, the wall here will open up to reveal a hidden room.
Open the portal
This new room is the Distillery. Inside is a large painting of a man and a computer. Interact with the computer and get kills with the Ray Gun Mark II-W near the painting. Doing so will open a portal in the painting that leads you to the Liminal Distillery.
Flask trial
Once inside the Liminal Distillery, you'll speak with the ghost of the man in the painting. He wants you to bring him a flask.
First, you'll need to find a bell. This item has a few spawn locations:
- The Study
- The Library
It is most commonly found in the Study so check there first, and the bell should be just right of the weapon wall buy in the room. It's in the cabinet, so you'll need to break the glass out of the cabinet to see it and pick it up. If it's not in the Study, break and check other glass cabinets nearby. The Study location is shown in the image above.
Take the Bell item upstairs to the bar at the top of the Grand Foyer.
Use the Brain Rot ammo mod to bring a Brain-Rotted zombie near the bar. Then, interact with the bell to ring it. This causes the zombie to hop the counter and drink from a flask. The zombie will then place the Flask item on the bar counter for you to pick up.
Return the Flask to the ghost. He will disappear, and then you can interact with a pedestal in the Liminal Distillery to place the Sentinel Artifact on it. Doing this will initiate a lockdown inside the room, and it will teleport everyone in the match here. So, you need to make sure all teammates are ready to fight. You must survive and kill an HVT Mangler. Once complete, you need to grab the Sentinel Artifact off the pedestal.
Antlers trial
For this step, you'll need the Ray Gun Mark II-P variant of the Wonder Weapon.
Head to the Banquet Hall. There's another computer and painting in here. Interact with the computer and get kills with the Ray Gun Mark II-P while close to the painting. Doing so will open a portal to the Liminal Banquet Hall. Talk to the ghost in here, and you'll get another task to complete. Before you leave the room make sure to grab the red wine bottle item on the corner of the dining table. As shown in the image above.
Then, you want to find three wine goblets scattered around the map. These are located at the following locations:
- On a table in the Bottlery
- On a bench in the Overlook
- Near the spawn area. On a stone bench opposite the bridge
You'll have three Elder Disciples to kill. One for each Goblet you pick up. After you kill them all, head to the elevator.
There should now be three sets of numbers showing on the walls around the elevator shaft.
Note these numbers in order from left to right. This will be your code for a safe you need to open. The code will be different each match.
The safe is found in the West Hallways, just to the right of the Death Perception perk machine. Crack it open with your code, and grab the Antler Carving item from inside.
Head back inside the Liminal Banquet Hall, and place the Sentinel Artifact on the pedestal. This will be a similar trial as the one in the Distillery. This time, you'll be in lockdown with an HVT Elder Disciple. Once complete, you need to grab the Sentinel Artifact off the pedestal.
Inspection Report trial
For this step, you'll need the Ray Gun Mark II-R variant of the Wonder Weapon. You'll also need the Aether Shroud field upgrade equipped and charged.
Head to the Library. Again, there is a computer and a painting. Interact with the computer and get kills with the Ray Gun Mark II-R while close to the painting. Doing so will open a portal to the Liminal Library. Talk to the ghost inside to get another quest.
Head out of the painting portal. There are three ghost books you need to find and pick up while in the Library and surrounding rooms. These can only be seen while you are actively using Aether Shroud. These books glow a very bright blue, so you can't miss them. It works best if you're playing co-op and can use the Aether Shroud's group shrouding to take turns activating and using Aether Shroud.
The image above shows the fireplace spawn for the East Foyer.
Once you have collected all three, you want to head back to the library. The ghost books will now appear on the bookshelves. Interact with each book until they are all glowing. This opens up a hidden room, and you can go inside to grab the Nuclear Plant Inspection Report item.
Go back through the portal into the Liminal Library. Place the Sentinel Artifact on the pedestal here. This will be another lockdown trial with an Amalgam. After, you need to grab the Sentinel Artifact off the pedestal.
If you try to do this step while on a Toxic Zombie round, it might not let you progress, and you'll need to wait for the next round to place the Sentinel Artifact. It's not clear whether this is a glitch or intentional.
Boss fight prep
You want ranged weapons for this fight. A Pack-a-Punched Ray Gun Mark II-W works great, so you can focus your points into this. If you're using another ranged gun like an assault rifle or LMG, you'll want to upgrade to Legendary rarity with Pack-a-Punch tier three. Upgrade your armor as well. Make sure you have all your essential perks equipped. Kazimir or Decoy tactical equipment can be useful.
The best lethal streak to use is the Chopper Gunner, so equip everyone in your party with one if possible. However, the Hand Cannon and Mutant Injection streaks can be useful here if you have these instead.
Boss fight
Once you're all geared up and the steps are complete, head to the Mainframe Chamber and interact with the device in front of S.A.M.
There will be an action-filled cutscene before the fight, but it might be worth skipping on your first try. There is currently a bug with the cutscene that can cause one or more players to get stuck on a white screen. This unfortunately hindered my first boss fight attempt, as one teammate was unable to help or even watch. Some players suggest skipping the scene can help prevent the bug from even occurring.
This is definitely one of the coolest Zombies bosses in recent years, allowing you to face off against an undead T-Rex. You'll want to aim for the critical spots on the dino, which include the eyes, the glowing patches that eventually appear on the sides and back, as well as the mouth while its puking acid.
There are four phases to the fight, and you'll know when the phase is changing because the boss will jump onto a cliff and become immune for a short time. It's best to save a chopper gunner for each phase, if possible. Defeat the zombie T-Rex to complete this main quest and receive a final story cutscene.
