It has been six years since the critically acclaimed Devil May Cry 5 graced PS4s around the world. Enough time has passed to warrant another entry, which may be in the works, as a voice actor is thought to have leaked Devil May Cry 6 by accident.
Dante voice actor Reuben Langdon may have accidentally leaked Devil May Cry 6
In an interview with CultureScape (as pointed out in the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit), the voice of Devil May Cry’s Dante, Reuben Langdon, may have slipped that the sixth mainline game is in the works.
“But the characters that people had fallen in love with, they were like ‘we don’t like the direction,'” Langdon said about players’ reactions to Dante in the reboot DmC: Devil May Cry. “So then they returned and they came back with Devil May Cry 6 — or 5.”
Although Langdon does mention Devil May Cry 6, it does seem to be a bit of a stretch to say this is confirmation a new entry is in the works. It seems more possible that the voice actor accidentally just said “6” instead of “5.” As exciting as a new entry in the Capcom hack and slash would be, eager fans should take this information with a grain of salt.
Some Reddit users have noted that this is not the first time a Devil May Cry voice actor has leaked the existence of an upcoming game. Back in 2015, Virgil voice actor Dan Southworth leaked Devil May Cry 5. Ten years later, Langdon may have done the same.
Although Devil May Cry 6 may be far away, PS5 players can experience Dante’s story with the Devil May Cry HD Collection & 4SE Bundle right now. It is currently discounted on the PS Store by 67% for the next few weeks. Also, Netflix just released its animated series based on the Capcom series.
