Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella seems delighted with Xbox games’ performance on PS Store, if a recent earnings call is any indication. While discussing the company’s third quarter results for FY25, the head honcho boasted about the success of Xbox Game Studios‘ new multiplatform strategy.

Xbox games’ success on PS Store further cements Microsoft’s cross-platform strategy

Nadella told investors that Xbox’s recent transformation led to the division bringing its games to over 500 million monthly active users across all devices including PlayStation. “We ended the quarter as the top publisher by pre-orders and pre-installs on both Xbox and the PlayStation Store,” Nadella gushed.

Nadella has been the biggest proponent of Xbox’s multiplatform strategy, arguing that it’s a necessity to keep Microsoft’s gaming business viable. “With Xbox Play Anywhere, players now can access more than 1,000 games they can play across console and PC,” he continued. “And just last week, we brought cloud gaming to LG TVs.”

Nadella didn’t mention Game Pass growth on consoles, but did say that PC Game Pass revenue increased more than 45% year-over-year. Microsoft’s cloud gaming initiative also set a new record, surpassing 150 million hours played.

Suffice to say, Xbox games are poised to become a staple of the PS Store.
