Everything New In Fortnite's Star Wars Season, Galactic Battle
For the very first time, Fortnite is devoting an entire season of battle royale to Star Wars, the franchise that has been dominating pop culture since well before most Fortnite players were born.Starting Friday, May 2, folks who log into the most popular battle royale on Earth will find a very different experience than Fortnite has ever offered--one in which the entire pool of weaponry comes from Star Wars. Even the past Marvel seasons weren't this extreme with their takeovers. The new season, dubbed Galactic Battle rather than Season 3, will run for the next five weeks. Scroll on for the complete rundown of what's in store for the event that starts just ahead of Star Wars Day. Fortnite Star Wars Battle PassWhile the previous abbreviated seasons (Fortnite OG and Chapter 2 Remix) included only four skins, the Galactic Battle Pass will actually have five. The new Star Wars Pass won't be longer than those were--it'll simply have an additional skin unlocked by quests in the back half of the season, just like a normal-length battle pass would. The skins in the image above are the ones included in the pass. All the skins are Star Wars folks, of course, with three of them being actual characters from Star Wars movies, and two being Fortnite-original mashups. The originals are a new remix of Evie as a Jedi trainee and the Wookiee Team Leader mascot person. The movie characters in main part of the pass are Emperor Palpatine and Poe Dameron, which is probably an in-joke about Poe's "somehow, Emperor Palpatine returned" line from The Rise of Skywalker--let us not forget that Palpatine announced said return in a Fortnite live event. The bonus, quest-based skin will be General Grievous. Fortnite Map for Star Wars: Galactic BattleThe battle royale map has been overhauled with four major new Star Wars locations at each corner of the island, as well as various other Star Wars-themed landmarks scattered around, like a crashed AT-AT walker that's been converted into a restaurant in the mountains above Brutal Boxcars. We've got a deeper look at the changes right here. New Star Wars Weapons for Fortnite Galactic BattleEvery single Fortnite-original gun is being vaulted in favor of a loot pool made up entirely of Star Wars guns this season, most of which are entirely new here. These weapons will be different from normal Fortnite guns, because blasters don't use ammo--instead, they overheat when fired quickly. On day one, the pool of weapons will look like this:DL-44 Blaster PistolHeavy CR-2 Blaster (SMG)ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster (shotguns)Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster RifleLong-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster RifleAll-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle(unvaulted) Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle(unvaulted) Empire standard Issue E-11 Blaster(unvaulted) First Order standard issue F-11 BlasterThere's also one weapon that isn't a gun: the explosive Thermal Imploder grenade. But that's not even close to the full list of new Star Wars guns we'll be playing with this season, as each week will add new stuff. On May 15, Chewbacca will arrive on the island to unvault the Wookiee Bowcaster and introduce the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster shotgun.A week later on May 22, Mandalorians will arrive and unvault the Mandalorian Jetpack item, which was significantly less hellish to deal with than the War Machine one we had last year. They've also got some guns to toss into the loot pool: the Amban Sniper Rifle and Jango Fett's dual WESTAR-34 Blaster Pistols. And let's not forget the starfighters. There will be flyable TIE Fighters and X-Wings available in battle royale throughout the season. Lightsabers and Force powers during Fortnite's Star Wars season As has been the case for the past couple May 4th parties, lightsabers will be all over the island during Star Wars season, and there are several different ones you can train with to use the accompanying Force powers. At the start of the season there will be three lightsabers--train with a hologram of Rey for a blue lightsaber with the Force Push ability, train with hologram Palpatine for a red lightsaber with Force Lightning, or defeat Darth Vader Samurai for a red lightsaber that you can throw.Starting May 8, Mace Windu and Darth Maul will join the training party with a purple lightsaber and the Force Pull ability for Mace, and a red lightsaber and the Force Throw ability for Maul. While you can loot and use lightsabers you find on enemy players, you only get the Force abilities if you were the one who trained to get the lightsaber. Fortnite Star Wars season boss battles and mythicsWhen the season begins, there will be two bosses on the map, with Darth Vader Samurai hanging out at Vader Samurai's Solitude, and Captain Phasma at the First Order Base. These weapons will be different from normal Fortnite guns, because blasters don't use ammo--instead, they overheat when fired quickly. On day one, the pool of weapons will look like this:
- DL-44 Blaster Pistol
- Heavy CR-2 Blaster (SMG)
- ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster (shotguns)
- Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster Rifle
- Long-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle
- All-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
- (unvaulted) Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle
- (unvaulted) Empire standard Issue E-11 Blaster
- (unvaulted) First Order standard issue F-11 Blaster
There's also one weapon that isn't a gun: the explosive Thermal Imploder grenade.

Fortnite Star Wars season boss battles and mythics

When the season begins, there will be two bosses on the map, with Darth Vader Samurai hanging out at Vader Samurai's Solitude, and Captain Phasma at the First Order Base. Vader will drop his throwable red lightsaber, as mentioned, and Phasma drops her F-11D Blaster and the Phasma's Blaster medallion, which makes it take longer for blaster weapons to overheat while you carry it. Just remember that other players will be able to see the general are where you are on the map.
For the last week of the season, there will be some kind of effort to defeat Emperor Palpatine, so we should expect him to be some sort of map boss that week as well--though it's too soon to say what kind of thing that will be.
Pilot your own Star Destroyer

Starting May 29, Fortnite will add a very different iteration of its player Godzilla event back in January, in which one player per game will be able to take control of a Star Destroyer and use it against other players. It's a good thing we'll have X-Wings to fly around in!
Lego Fortnite Star Wars event

Star Wars is taking over Lego Fortnite as well, with a new Lego Pass featuring Captain Phasma and a variety of First Order-themed Lego builds, a Star Wars Festival in Lego Fortnite Brick Life, and an entirely new competitive way to play Lego Fortnite Odyssey. The Lego Pass and the Star Wars Festival begin on Friday with the rest of the May 4th festivities.
But the last thing, the Rapid Survival mode in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, which involves playing from scratch on temporary version of the Star Wars island against seven other players via matchmaking, starts May 15. This mode will be available for only 11 days and will go offline on May 26.
When does Fortnite Star Wars season end?

The Star Wars fun comes to an end on June 7, after which presumably we'll get a more standard summer season of Fortnite battle royale.
