Microsoft has recently released several of its first-party Xbox titles on PS5. This turned out to be a great move for the company, as the top three downloaded PS5 games on the PS Store are from the green gaming brand.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the top downloaded PS5 game in April
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the top downloaded PS5 games for April 2025 were revealed. Some entries, like Grand Theft Auto 5, are less surprising than others. However, the top three spots are from studios under the Xbox umbrella, two of which released on PS5 in April. Here are the top ten most downloaded PS5 games during April 2025 in the U.S. and Canada:
- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
- Minecraft
- Forza Horizon 5
- MLB The Show 25
- NBA 2K25
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
Although it did not hit the top ten, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was the eleventh most downloaded game on PS5 in the month of April.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 both released in April 2025. Specifically, Oblivion was released on April 22, while Forza was released on April 28. It is impressive that both of these were launched near the end of the month and are hitting those top spots, indicating some solid sales for the Xbox titles. Minecraft‘s number two spot may be due to the popularity of the film adaptation.
The same games were the top downloaded PS5 games in April in Europe as well. However, Forza Horizon 5 was number one, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was two, and Minecraft was three. Additionally, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle reached number eight in the region.
