A 2018 PS4 multiplayer game is shutting down, as unceremoniously revealed by a developer notice that was quietly slipped into its PS Store page. Originally an Obsidian Entertainment project, vehicular combat game Armored Warfare will be pulled from service soon, more than seven years after its launch.
PS4 multiplayer game Armored Warfare will shut down in July 2025
“Attention: the game will be closed on July 30,” reads a note on Armored Warfare’s PS Store page. The game is also available on Xbox One and PC.
None of Armored Warfare’s expensive virtual currency and add-on packs have been delisted from the PS Store, which is a common practice when a game is about to be shut down. Interestingly, it doesn’t look like publisher My.Games has made a formal announcement of server closure.
We’ve done a little bit of digging around, and the only shutdown notice we have spotted so far is the one on Armored Warfare’s PS Store listing. PS4 players are warned that if they end up spending money on any of the content packs, they’re unlikely to be able to receive a refund.
It’s unclear if Armored Warfare’s PC version is being shut down or not as it has a different publisher.
