A new AI divide is plaguing companies; Reinventing logistics for D2C brands

Hello,
Rohit Sharma’s dream job comes to an end as the cricketer announced his retirement from Test Cricket.
But what is your dream job?
LinkedIn—the job-search site turned corporate church for executive sermons—is launching a new generative AI tool that will help users find their ideal careers.
The platform’s updated AI-powered search bar now provides users with job posting results based on natural language descriptions, such as “find me a senior-level job in a retail company focusing on sustainability,” according to The Verge.
Speaking of changes, Facebook parent Meta will likely reshape the advertising industry with the launch of an end-to-end AI ad tool.
The tool is so sophisticated that the company doesn’t even recommend that customers specify the demographics they’d like to target. Meta’s tools can find interested users better than human marketers can, claimed CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Interesting times ahead for the global advertising industry.

SaaS
The new AI divide
For SaaS firms, the end-user has changed. Today, humans work alongside digital co-workers and AI agents, forcing software companies to build products as much for machines as for people.
This new intersection of AI and SaaS has led founders to rewrite their playbooks overnight. Some founders, with their early experiments, have revamped their entire positioning overnight, while others wondered whether a rebrand was enough.
Key takeaways:
- “While we’re innovating rapidly, not all customers are immediately ready to adopt cutting-edge technologies like Generative AI and LLM models. Some need more time, clarity, and confidence to embrace these changes fully,” says Mobavenue MD and CEO Ishank Joshi.
- According to Deloitte, organisational change tends to be slower than technological change, no matter how quickly AI advances. Most organisations also expect it will take at least a year to resolve challenges like user adoption, governance, and AI training.
- “Most foundation model companies are very opinionated about how they offer their services, and it often involves data moving from one source to another on the cloud, which most enterprises are not comfortable with,” says Soham Ganatra, Founder of Composio.

Startup
Reinventing logistics for D2C brands
DAAKit, derived from ‘daakia’, the Hindi word for postman, is a smart logistics startup helping smaller brands match the speed of ecommerce giants. It helps brands decentralise inventory through a network of 10 warehouses across the country, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and beyond.
Point-to-point:
- “If a customer in Lucknow places an order, we shouldn’t ship it from Delhi. We’ll fulfil it from Lucknow itself or Ghaziabad. That’s how we cut delivery time from five days to one, and reduce logistics costs by 20–30%,” says founder Chandan Singh Ghugtyal.
- DAAKit’s proprietary warehouse management system lets sellers manage inventory, track expiry dates, automate replenishments, and monitor stock across all locations in real-time.
- It has also developed an intelligent courier allocation engine. It enables brands to choose delivery partners based on cost, service-level agreement performance, and serviceability.

Chandan Singh Ghugtyal, Founder of DAAKit, is transforming how D2C brands manage logistics by enabling same-day and next-day delivery through a smart, decentralised warehousing network. With a tech-first approach and deep industry experience, he’s helping brands deliver faster and own their customer relationships.
Electric Vehicle
Inside Simple Energy’s $350M IPO plan
Bengaluru-based EV maker Simple Energy plans to come out with an initial public offering between Q2 and Q3 of FY27 with a target to raise Rs 3,000 crore ($350 million)
Simple Energy says it has achieved a 500% year-on-year growth. The company is targeting a revenue of Rs 800 crore in FY26 and aims to surpass Rs 1,500 crore in cumulative revenue over the next 18 months.
Ambition:
- Unlike other EV startups, Simple Energy does not operate an online platform for customers to place orders. “We cannot give the service support required even if we can deliver the scooter; so we are looking at the brick-and-mortar model,” Co-founder and CEO Suhar Rajkumar told YourStory.
- While Simple Energy is bullish on electric scooters, it has no immediate plans to branch out into electric motorcycles. “I think the bike market will take some time and we want to be observant of it,” said Rajkumar.
- Simple Energy expects to use 30% of its IPO proceeds for R&D, 50% for general operations, market and product expansion, and the remaining to expand its factories and other production capabilities.
